Common questions about choosing a mobility aid
What mobility aids does SteadWell sell?
We are an Australian online store selling walkers and rollators, shower chairs and bathroom aids, toilet safety frames and raised toilet seats, and daily living aids like reachers and dressing aids. Prices run from about $19.99 for small daily living aids to $437.89 for a complete recovery pack, with rollators from $159 to $425 and shower chairs from about $89.90. Every product page explains who the item suits and why, so you can choose the right one for your situation.
Is SteadWell an Australian business?
Yes. SteadWell is Australian owned and founder-led, run by Bianca Willshire (ABN 33 809 171 360). Orders ship from Australian warehouses, and all prices are in Australian dollars.
Can I use my NDIS funding at SteadWell?
Yes, if your plan is self-managed or plan-managed. Everything we sell is low-cost assistive technology under $1,500, so there is no quote or assessment to arrange before you order. If you are plan-managed, choose the plan-managed option at checkout and add your plan manager's email, and we send the invoice directly with our ABN, your NDIS number and the support item code. We cannot take agency-managed orders yet.
Does SteadWell work with Support at Home (aged care) funding?
Yes. Under Support at Home, mobility aids are funded through the Assistive Technology and Home Modifications (AT-HM) scheme, in tiers of up to $500, $2,000 or $15,000. Your provider or care manager sources the item, and the supplier does not need to be a registered aged care provider. Every product we sell sits under the smallest tier, and each order comes with an itemised tax invoice for the client's file.
What is the best mobility aid for an elderly parent?
It depends on what your parent is finding hard. For someone who walks a bit but tires or feels unsteady outdoors, a four-wheel rollator with a seat is usually the best first choice, because they can rest whenever they need to. For someone who mainly needs stability, a walker gives more support. If the worry is the bathroom, start with a shower chair and a grab rail. Our three-question guide turns this into one clear recommendation.
How much do mobility aids cost at SteadWell?
Our range runs from about $19.99 to $437.89. As a guide: rollators $159 to $425, walkers $165 to $249, shower chairs and stools $46.99 to $129, toilet aids $49.99 to $83.99, canes $62 to $65, and dressing aids $38 to $59. Shipping is free on orders of $99 and over, and a flat $14.95 under that.
What if the mobility aid is not right when it arrives?
If it is not the right fit, we organise the return for you, so you do not have to lift a box. If anything arrives faulty, we replace it. Every product page explains who each item suits, to help you choose the right product before you order.
